The Safety Performance Management System (SPMS) Measurement Phase includes a process for the collection and incorporation of feedback related to intervention strategies. Such a process is essential to ensure continual organizational safety performance improvement.

The SPMS process includes:                                                
  • Use of interviews, focus groups, and employee surveys to measure effectiveness of balance between efficiency and safety.
  • The development of measures to allow continued monitoring and self-assessment.
  • Development and maintenance of database for trending and tracking performance measures related to safety.
